RETURN TO THUMBNAILS	A 50 square metre, one bedroom cottage (the bedroom is upstairs)clad in corrugated steel. Since this was first built, we have designed a 70 square metre addition that flows down the hill from the original cottage. We will be adding some new photographs soon.
RETURN TO THUMBNAILS Through here to see interiors	Our clients had bought a fifty year old holiday home on a site overlooking the Karitane estuary and coastline. They wanted to create a new home that related strongly to the surrounding landscape. Adding a second storey we kept the roofline low in an effort to keep the building anchored to the land while rising up to maximise views and sun.

Built as a sleep-out and later converted to a Bed and Breakfast accommodation, this design would work equally well as a crib or holiday cottage. RETURN TO THUMBNAILS	This new kitchen extension in Wanganui added 6 square metres to the old galley style kitchen that was proving too cramped. The new, in contrast to the old, focuses on openness. The large window above the sink has its sill right at bench level to bring the outside in, even more so when the bi-folding sashes are slid completely open. The colour scheme is centred around a Tamarilo tree now immediately outside the window. In summer the kitchen is pervaded with its tropical perfume.
