We live and work on the waterfront in Turnbulls Bay on the Otago Peninsula where the ever-changing beauty of harbour, hills & sky inspire & inform our work.
Good design engenders a sense of shelter, a sense of 'home'. Its strength lies in simplicity - in structure that responds to site, natural light, passive solar gain and function.
By creating spaces one relates to both consciously and unconsciously, 'home' can influence how we feel.
Good design is both functional and nurturing.
If space is designed in ways that allow flexible and versatile use, the need for a large footprint is reduced.
Well framed connections to site and place can expand our sense of space within relatively small buildings.
Similarly interiors are enhanced and enlivened by the way natural light is incorporated.
